What is emotional labour? – About power relations, demarcation and support

What is emotional labour?
- About power relations, demarcation and support

Wednesday | March 13th, 2019 | 7pm

Emotional labour is often invisible and as part of care labour rarely openly discussed. Soothing a friend, a clarifying conversation or taking a break for your own emotions can all be examples of emotional labour in everyday life. But who takes responsibility for it? Who prefers to pass emotional labour to their environment? And especially, how can we identify existing patterns we recognise in ourselves, break through them and choose another approach to emotional labour?

This workshop is aimed to all genders and all personal positionings. It's for you if your aim is to learn for the first time about emotional labour and it's for you if you would like to learn how you can support others and yourself emotionally in the future. You are right here, too, if you want to find out for yourself how you're responsible for the feelings of others and if you want to pay more attention to your own limits.

This is a "life´s a beach"- kollective workshop. More about them and their work you can find on their blog.

Workshop in German, room barrier-poor. Duration approx.2,5h. Donation (0-20 €) welcome. All genders welcome!!
