Authors and publishers of the book

Saturday | January, 10th 2019 | 6pm

We live in a time when all areas of life are permeated with capitalism. Against the impositions of the capitalist logic of exploitation, one's own self is constantly being optimized and individual strategies of solutions are praised as freedom. "Simple" promises of freedom are not least also presented in parts of feminism and sound all the more promising the less the capitalist structures are questioned. At the same time, inequalities in society are on the rise, and women are still the main carers, thereby being excluded from liberal promises of freedom.

Against this background, Lisa Yashodhara Haller and Anna Stiede argue for materialistic feminism and, consequently, for a critical examination of economic, social and political conditions and current developments. materializing feminism makes a feminist critique of the economy and society visible, deals with its practices and counter-strategies and invites one to think further.

The reading starts at 6pm. Admission free! You can find the event and up-to-date information on Facebook as well.
